FLORIDA GATORS 2008 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

I am about as happy a camper as there can be as far as my Mighty Gators are concerned! I watched the BCS National Championship game with about 20 Florida fans and proceeded to lose my voice as I watched them beat the so-called offensive powerhouse Oklahoma! What a great game, and yes I do give props to Oklahoma for doing as well as they did, although I must say that there were several plays where Oklahoma got away with a lot of crap! They played a bit dirty, and yes I know that some Florida players talked some crap, but at least they did not try to take out any Oklahoma players!! I am not a big fan of Oklahoma now! It was similar to my experiences before the 2006 National Championship game here in Arizona. Before that I never really had anything against Ohio State, but I have never been around such horrid fans, and that includes all those crazy SEC fans! They were rude, mean, and sooooo prideful. They were even worse than USC fans! Watching Florida humiliate them was one of the best things that I ever watched! I love seeing them lose now whenever I can.

So why write about it today? Well, we just found out that Tim Tebow, the best college player in history is staying for one more year! We only wait now to see about Percy Harvin and Brandon Spikes, but even if we lose both we have a great shot to go undefeated, win another championship, and Tim Tebow could win another Heisman!!

IT IS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!

The New Year and year in review

So today is January 2nd, 2009. WOW… we are done with 2008 just like that, and I am sure that a lot of people are very excited about it. Let us review how my year went shall we…

It was our first full year in our own home, and although we got a screaming deal because the economy, I kind of wished we held on a little longer because we might of got an even better deal on a house closer to work and bigger as well.

On the professional side, I was able to see my first project that I did a lot of the work for get finished. I worked on the design and much of the drawing for the new Avondale branch library that opened in August. See earlier post for more work info.

I have kept my job unlike many others I know, and my grumbling about certain things have turned to thanks for having some security, (knock on wood).

Lani and I were both called to teach in Primary at church, continuing the tradition from our old ward, and we have enjoyed being with two different classes so far. This next week we will now have the 10 year olds, and it should be lots of fun.

As for the family, Lani and I managed to stay together, and we do not beat our children, at least severely, and we all love each other. Lani and I celebrated our ninth year of marriage, (HOLY CRAP we are OLD), and still are going strong. Benji turned 8, got baptized, joined scouts, and is doing well at school. Sam turned 5, started kindergarten and enjoys it immensely, and still pesters Benji as much as possible. Our little Noah turned 1 in December and is growing much too fast. Despite getting into everything that a baby can, he has been wonderful and we all love him so much.

Really it has been a great year for us in so many ways. So what might be my goals for 2009? Well, here are a few of those as well.

Stay married, and try not to beat my children any worse than I do now, (as well as trying to make Lani happy all the time :)

Try to do more family stuff together, (FHE, activities, and do it outside of the house)

Be better about church and going to the temple

Keep my job, learn as much as possible, and make some strides in my examinations. Get LEED certified.

Lose some weight and get a little more active and healthy! I am fat

Watch less television, this one sucks…

I hope that this year will be much better than the last for all of us, whether 2008 was a banner year, or a bummer year. Lets all strive to do what we can to help out the process.
